Today I did fitness with my friends for our fitness-a-thon. I did 6 laps, my friends also did 6 laps expect my one friends, he did 7 laps.

Title  Basketball

Introdiction

Michael Jordan, Stephen Curry and Lebron James. What did you think of when I said them? What do these names have in common? If you are thinking of a sport that uses a 2 hoops, a bouncy ball and a flat surface, you will be correct. I am talking about the best game in the world, BASKETBALL!

Big Idea 1

Who invented basketball? You any of you know? Tricky question isn’t it? His name was James Naismith and he was born on November 6, 1861. James Naismith was a Canadian and American sports coach and innovator. He invented the game of basketball in 1891. He is also designed the first football helmet used in American football.    

Big Idea 2

How do you play this great game? First all you need is basketball, which is a ball of the appropriate size, about the size of a large watermelon. Now you need a goal or a hoop. This is on a long stick that is about 3 metres high.  It needs a net that fits through the hoop and a backboard so you can bounce the ball in. You score a goal by shooting it in the hoop. A easy way to shoot in the hoop is go very close to the hoop and shoot but not that close that you are nearly touching the hoop.

Big Idea 3

You must have heard of these names before. Michael Jordan, Stephen Curry and Lebron James, Magic Johnson and Walt Frazier. These guys are the most famous basketball in the world and they have won million of trophy and so much money because they played a lot of basketball. Here is a few fun facts about my favourite players. Did you know that Lebron James eats and write with his left hand. Michael Jordan has scored more points (5,987) in the playoffs than any other player. And finally did you know that Stephen Curry was the first person to be vote by everyone in the NBA as the most valuable player.

Big Idea 4

Basketball is played worldwide, as many as 1900 will play basketball in the tournaments this year.  Over 26 million Americans play basketball, of them 15.5 million people play basketball in teams, 4.1 million play organised leagues and there are 23 teams in the NBA.

Concluding Statement

Basketball is my best sport in the that's next when I grow up I am gonna become a basketball player. So what do you think about basketball, would you like to play some day? Give it a go, I know you will love it as much as I do.

The Mighty Gorilla

Gorillas are interesting animals that mainly live in forests in tropical Africa. Few animals have sparked the imagination of man as much as the gorilla, the largest of the living member of the ape family.

What do Gorillas look like?

The gorilla has a shiny black back and they can grow up to 6 feet high, 1.8 meters tall. They have a thick body,  large head and fat muscles. They can live till 50 years old. They use hands to explore and to eat with.       

How they behave?

Gorilla are nice and friendly and won't hurt anybody unless they feel like they are in trouble. They play together with their friends and family. They spend time grooming each other and cuddle their babies.

 

What do they eat?

They need a lot of food. Gorillas mainly have a vegetarian diet, feeding on stems, bamboo shoots and fruits. Western Lowland Gorillas like to eat ants and break open termite nests to eat the larvae.

Where do they live?

Mountain Gorillas live in Rwanda, Uganda and the  Republic of the Congo. They like green, volcanic mountains which have a lot of food on them to eat. Lowland Gorillas live in the forests of Central and Western Africa in Angola and Cameroon.

Closing paragraph

I think that gorillas are cute and don’t harm anybody so we should look after them. That's why people shouldn't kill gorillas in the forest or cut down trees.

We are so lucky that science in a van came to our school and preformed their show. They made us so happy and they told about solids, liquids and gases.

Beginning: Ben and his wife had 4 tickets to go Mexico.They invited Jeff and Jessica to go with them. When all of the people sat down in the plane it takes off. Suddenly the pilot announced that the plane is going to crash.

Middle:

Then it did crash. People were still alive and they got out of the plane and started to run. As they were running they saw a bottle with a paper inside it.Then they tried to open the bottle and they found a map. They kept on following the map and they reached the place where some people died.

End: They all reached home safely .

Evaluation:  It is very interesting story.  10/10.
